M. CHRISTOPHER DIAMOND
Christopher is a seasoned commercial litigator with two decades of experience, 17 years of which were spent on Bay Street at what was one of Canada’s largest national law firms. Christopher’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, products law, the defence of professional liability and D&O claims, and employment matters.
Christopher is frequently retained to litigate disputes arising out of complex commercial and real estate transactions, contractual disputes, and shareholder disputes.
Christopher’s products law practice includes the defence of product liability claims on behalf of major manufacturers, importers, and distributors, and related regulatory matters.
Christopher advises and represents manufacturers, importers, and distributors and their captive insurers on products matters including product recalls, related regulatory matters, and the defence of products-based class proceedings.
He has acted in connection with product liability claims and recalls involving a wide array of products including major and small appliances, consumer electronics, HVAC systems, power tools, building and construction materials, safety equipment, commercial lighting products, and outdoor products.
Christopher frequently works with manufacturers and their counsel to provide advice on and insight into cross-border recalls and incident reporting-related issues and investigations. He has particular expertise dealing with electrically-powered products, and has written and spoken extensively on cross-border products issues, including the reporting and other requirements of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
Christopher is also retained to assist his clients in the negotiation, preparation and litigation of agreements relating to the sale and distribution of consumer products including vendor agreements, supplier agreements, indemnity claims, and distribution agreements.
Christopher is Preferred Counsel to LawPRO (the primary professional liability insurer for Ontario lawyers) for which he regularly acts as repair counsel, and in the defence of complex professional liability claims.
Christopher acts for directors and officers of both private and public corporations in the defence of claims brought by former employees, taxing authorities, employment standards regulators, the federal Labour Program and creditors, and in related D&O insurance matters.
Christopher also has considerable experience litigating and mediating employment matters, and human rights claims.
Christopher has a B.A. from York University, and an LL.B from the University of Western Ontario.
Christopher is a member of, and actively participates in, numerous professional organizations including the ABA, CBAO, Canadian Defence Lawyers, International Consumer Health & Product Safety Organization, Defence Research Institute, the Advocates’ Society, and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
Christopher is a passionate sailor, an avid traveller, and a lover of good food and drink.

ADAM C. PANTEL
Adam is a commercial litigator whose practice focuses on the defence of professional liability claims, real estate-related litigation for commercial landlords and tenants, shareholder disputes, employment law, and bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
Adam has a wealth of experience defending professional negligence claims against lawyers, paralegals, mortgage brokers, and accountants, and in related professional discipline proceedings. He has acted as Preferred Counsel to LawPRO (the primary professional liability insurer for Ontario lawyers) for most of his career. Adam is acutely aware of the reputational and financial stakes at issue in these cases. He is sought after by the professionals he defends and their insurers for his passionate and diligent brand of advocacy.
While Adam has gained a reputation for being a forceful and aggressive advocate when necessary, his focus is always to bring his client’s disputes to closure as early and efficiently as possible.
Prior to co-founding DiamondPantel LLP, Adam was a partner at two Toronto litigation boutiques. He has a B.Comm from McGill University, and an LL.B from the University of Western Ontario.
Adam’s young family keeps him busy outside of the office, and you will frequently find him with a tall coffee in hand at early morning hockey and baseball practices around our City.
